Meteorscatter History

Started 1980 my Meteorscatter activity from my old QTH.

Think my first QSO was with OY5NS in the Perseids 1980

(single Burst with report 38).

Lots of MS QSOs have been made in scheduled or random High Speed CW.

During meteor showers also a lot of QSOs was made in USB on the MS calling QRGs 144.200/144.300 MHZ.

In the pioneer days of Meteorscatter we used a very simple equipment:

  • Receiving with a modified tape/cassette recorder
  • Transmitting high speed CW with a ETM-4 Memory Keyer

Here you can find a comparison of Digital Tape Recorder (DTR) and Modified Tape Recorder (MTR) with MSDSP computer software.

Modified Tape/Cassette Recorder

My Uher Variocord 263 tape recorder with modified speed control (recording with very high speed, playback with very low speed).
